Nobody in FLW land ever heard of Zeko Shoes until the company showed up in a booth at the 2011 Forrest Wood Cup FLW Expo and sold a ton of them. Even National Guard pro Scott Martin, the reigning Cup champ, is wearing Zekos now, and looking quite spiffy. Though technically not fishing shoes, Zekos are made of water-resistant or waterproof components and are suitable for anything from fishing during a summer downpour to lounging around a weigh-in. A strap with hook-and-loop fasteners holds the machine-washable shoe securely to the foot, and a mesh upper provides good ventilation. The generous molded EVA sole is slip-resistant and as comfortable as flip-flops. Perhaps the best thing about the shoes is their weight – less than 6 ounces apiece – which means that, like Martin after the Cup’s final weigh-in, you’ll think you’re walking barefoot on clouds.
